Support for loved ones

Caring for Loved Ones, Too

Supporting a person at the end of life also means caring for those around them. Aux trois sentiers fully recognizes the essential role of family caregivers and the emotional intensity of what they are going through. A dedicated range of support services is offered to address their physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual needs.

Support tailored to the needs of loved ones

Before death

Our support services for loved ones include:

  • psychosocial support
  • massage therapy
  • art therapy
  • spiritual care
  • psychology
  • support from a thanadoula
  • sound therapy
  • hypnotherapy

Whether it is an opportunity to pause and recharge, a safe space to express emotions and experiences, or practical support in daily life, our team is there to accompany loved ones every step of the way.

After death

Because support does not end with death, we are currently developing a bereavement follow-up program. This initiative will aim to support loved ones in the days, weeks, and months following this significant life transition.

Through a range of supportive services and resources, we hope to provide a compassionate space where grieving individuals can feel heard, welcomed, and accompanied as they navigate their grief journey.

Better Understanding the Needs of Family Caregivers

The Fondation de la Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec has awarded Aux trois sentiers a grant to carry out an action-research project focused on the needs of family caregivers during the final days of a loved one’s life and throughout the period following their death.

Conducted over a 15-month period, this project is being carried out in collaboration with community partners and university researchers from various disciplines.

Its goal is to better understand the realities experienced by loved ones in order to co-create practical, compassionate, and needs-based tools.

  • awareness and information tools for loved ones;
  • clinical tools to better identify their needs;
  • recommendations to improve support practices in end-of-life and bereavement care contexts.

Stay tuned

We will soon share more information regarding the recruitment of family caregivers who may wish to participate in this research project.

Their Words, Their Experience

Every end-of-life journey is unique. Behind every person receiving care are loved ones who move through this chapter with courage, love, and devotion.

We are privileged to accompany these families and deeply touched when they choose to share their experiences. Their stories speak more eloquently than we ever could about the importance of feeling supported, heard, and surrounded by care during one of life’s most significant moments.

Testimonial from the Sellato Family

« They cared not only for my father with dignity and compassion, but also for my mother, Carmen Sellato, who was his primary caregiver. The attention given to her well‑being was both genuine and invaluable. »
